ORDER SETTING SETTLEMENT CONFERENCE
Plaintiff is a state prisoner proceeding through counsel with an action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. This case will be referred to Magistrate Judge Victor E. Bianchini to conduct a settlement conference at the U. S. District Court, 312 North Spring Street, Los Angeles, California 90012 in Courtroom #1600 on December 20, 2011 at 9:30 a.m.
A separate order and writ of habeas corpus ad testificandum will issue concurrently with this order.
In accordance with the above, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that:
1. This case is set for a settlement conference before Magistrate Judge Victor E. Bianchini on December 20, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. at the U. S. District Court, 312 North Spring Street, Los Angeles, California 90012 in Courtroom #1600.
2. Defendants' lead counsel and a person with full and unlimited authority to negotiate and enter into a binding settlement on defendants' behalf shall attend in person.*fn1
3. Those in attendance must be prepared to discuss the claims, defenses and damages. The failure of any counsel, party or authorized person subject to this order to appear in person may result in the imposition of sanctions. In addition, the conference will not proceed and will be reset to another date.
4. Each party to this action shall, no later than December 12, 2011, complete and submit the attached Pre-Settlement Conference Questionnaire to the following address: Sujean Park, ADR Division Unites States District Court 501 I Street, Suite 4-200 Sacramento, California 95814 or via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org Do not file the questionnaire with the Clerk's Office or mail a copy to the opposing party.
